How to succeed in life

In an interview with Chris Weitz, the director of The Golden Compass, he says this about English boarding schools;

“What that system teaches you is how to be strident and absolutely assured of something you don’t really know anything about,” he says. “It’s a great skill for Hollywood. They want you to tell them that you know how to do things, so that they can feel better about the fact that nobody knows what they’re doing.”

Most of the prominent figures in British politics went to boarding school.

It is a great skill for all of life, not just Hollywood. Even when you are proved wrong, you can still pull it off. Just read about Trofim Lysenko.
